One of the most recognized symbols in the world, is that of America’s Bald Eagle. Representing the people who live in the USA, it’s strength and character carry forward to all who live within the boundaries of this great country. I have always wanted to attempt to capture that spirt and strength in a bold and yet simplistic painting of the Bald Eagle. I rendered this composition in acrylic, and elected to show the bold colors of a fiery red sky fading to a dark horizon. The contrast of the eagle's head stands boldly out against this setting, and I was excited to portray it as such. I took some time in naming it, and with the advice of a friend, decided upon a bold and simple name of “America”. Anyone who sees this rendition will know that it is a Bald Eagle, and its title needs no further identification as I see it. It was a challenge to create and paint, and I do hope that those of you who elect to have a copy of it enjoy it as much as I did in the creation of it. As I always try and state when it comes to any of my bird paintings, “May They Always Fly”, DFH.
