    • Canada Goose "Greater" Magnum Vintage Working Decoy Original Working Paint Hand Carved From Cedar by Danny Lee Heuer.
    • This decoy is from my 96 year old (deceased) fathers estate and my private decoy collection of my Dad's best to me.
    • Hand carved and painted by Danny Lee Heuer out of Michigan High Ground White Cedar circa 1987.
    • Approximate size is; 21 1/2 " in length by 13 " high and 9" wide, a full size working decoy.
    • My father was one of the "Old Time" carvers/duck hunters and his decoys reflect a lifetime of knowledge and love of the "sport of kings!"
    • This Canada Goose Decoy was one of Dad's early carvings, and a winter painted & carved decoy. 
    • His early "winter painted" decoys, always seemed to me to be more slowly painted, as he had time and his hands could still hold the paint brushes more easily.
    • Early in his carving career, before arthritis bothered his hands, he would paint several decoys in a tighter style than later on, this is one of those decoys.
    • The bottom of the decoy has dad's name & date carved into it with the SSM location info as the picture shows
    • Also on the bottom is visible the 12 drill holes to help in hollowing out the bottom for easier transportation, making the decoy slightly lighter.
    • We floated and hunted this decoy in the late 88 season, only two different times, with strict instructions not to shoot near it of course, nothing more thrilling then hunting over a hand carved gunning decoy!
    • After hunting over this decoy, it was retired to my personal collection room as I loved the painting on it and carving style & also the magnum size of this "Greater Canada Goose".
    • This decoy was as with a bunch of his early work also is one of my very  favorite's of mine, as it was one of the first of many we floated and hunted over.
    • This Vintage Working "Canada Goose" Decoy is now up for grabs & available for a addition to that serious decoy collection.
    • This Decoy comes with a unique hand made display stand to accommodate the keel with antique "High Brass" Super X-3" Mark 5 mag loads, heavy 12 ga. shotgun shell bases on a 3/4" wooden base approximately 10" long, by 4 1/2" wide, a great looking display stand, as shown by the picture.
